    Liverpool V Southampton Match Preview

Southampton remain unbeaten in the last three Premier League games after last Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Leicester.

The Saints will be disappointed with their latest result after throwing away a two-goal lead. Jamie Vardy was at it again as he saved the Foxes blushes with an injury time equaliser.

Southampton dominated the first half with goals from Virgil Van Dijk and Jose Fonte. The home side relaxed after the break and the visitors’ were able to claw back an unlikely draw.

Leicester are the comeback kings so far in the Premier League this season by rescuing seven points from losing positions.

Ronald Koeman’s men face an away trip to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side. Former Borussia Dortmund boss took over from Brendan Rodgers last week.

Nathaniel Clyne is set to face his former club for the first time on Sunday

and the England international has made the right back spot his own after signing for Liverpool for £12.5 million.

The German who took charge of his first game in the 0-0 draw away at Tottenham has said this week that Daniel Sturridge should be available for the visit of Southampton. In addition, Christian Benteke is nearing fitness and could feature in the game on Sunday.

The Belgian striker signed from Aston Villa, played 27 minutes in the 1-1 draw against Rubin Kazan in the Europa League.

Roberto Firmino and Dejan Lovren will also be available for their new manager’s first Premier League game at Anfield.

There is some positive news for Southampton as Fraser Forster posted online a video of him training although no date has been set for his return in the Saints goal. Defender Florin Gardos is expected to return in January.

Southampton have one of the worst disciplinary records in the Premier League this season. They have collected 22 bookings in nine games. In contrast to the 2014/15 season, the Saints picked up 57 bookings in 38 games.

The team from St Mary’s risk losing key members of their squad, Oriel Romeu has been cautioned four times in six games for the club.

Graziano Pelle, Victor Wanyama, and Jose Fonte have collected three yellow cards a piece in the first nine games of 2015/16.

Ryan Bertrand has also received two yellow cards in three matches since his come back from injury.

Southampton will look to keep their unbeaten away league record but Liverpool have won the last three meetings between the two teams who will be facing each other this weekend.

Ronald Koeman believes the arrival of Klopp on Merseyside will have no effect on his in-form side. The Dutchman also said that Marten Stekelenburg could replace Kelvin Davis in goal for the Saints.

Summer signing Cedric could also feature despite suffering a nasty eye injury in Saints last game against Leicester.
