    Manchester City v Norwich City

Norwich City face a daunting trip to top of the table Manchester City on Saturday afternoon, in a bid to turn their recent poor form around before going into a testing set of fixtures in November.

The Canaries could not wish to face tougher opposition on the back of three league defeats and getting knocked out of the League Cup by Everton during the week. Norwich have not won for six games, a run that stretches back seven weeks, and are still looking for their first clean sheet in the league this season.

Manchester City were the early pace setters in the Premier League before losing two games at the end of September, against West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur. However they have turned that minor setback around in recent weeks with comprehensive victories against Newcastle United and Bournemouth before earning a comfortable draw at Old Trafford last weekend. They also cruised past Crystal Palace in the League Cup on Wednesday.

Alex Neil's men will not be able to draw much comfort from their recent outings against Manchester City, winning one of their last ten meetings and losing six. The last clash at the Etihad Stadium took place almost two years ago to the day, where the home side ran out 7-0 winners. A similar result this weekend may not be out of the question looking at the recent form of both teams.

There is some hope for the visitors with Manchester City still missing top goalscorer Sergio Aguero who is not due back for another three weeks after picking up a hamstring injury. Samir Nasri has a similar problem, but Gael Clichy, Pablo Zabaleta, David Silva, Raheem Sterling and Fabian Delph could all return from knocks and injuries.

Norwich striker Dieumerci Mbokani has been struggling with illness this week, but is expected to be part of the squad that makes the trip up to Lancashire. Alex Neil has no fresh injury concerns to contend with.

    Key Players:
Wilfried Bony- with Sergio Aguero still injured, there is a fantastic opportunity for the Ivory Coast international to build his goal tally after only scoring two, both against Bournemouth, this season.

John Ruddy- the Norwich goalkeeper has made a number of excellent clean sheets this season but has still conceded more goals than any other goalkeeper in the Premier League. He will have to be in fine form to keep out Manchester City this weekend.

Chris Lincoln's Prediction: Manchester City 4-0 Norwich City
The teams could not have more contrasting recent form records and on the evidence of the midweek League Cup ties I cannot see that changing this weekend. The home side have scored 16 goals in their last four games and Norwich have not kept a clean sheet this season, two statistics that tells you everything in the run up to this fixture.
