Premier League Best XI: 17-19th Oct - Newcastle are Back?!

The European qualifiers have drawn to a close but now it's back to business for the Premier League Clubs and the Fantasy League players. The weekend started off with a bore draw at White Hart Lane where Liverpool and Tottenham shared the spoils 0-0. However the big talking point in the game was the much anticipated first game under Jurgen Klopp. However the reds couldn't break down the solid Spurs defence and earning his place this week is Tottenham's Left Back Danny Rose. He was a stand-out performer in a very dull game where neither team could find the killer pass.

Between the sticks this week is West Brom keeper Boaz Myhill who kept a very good clean sheet against another club with a new manager, Sunderland. Sam Allardyce took the reins at Sunderland but he didn't get the result he wanted as his team went down 1-0.

Joining Rose in defence are Hector Bellerin, who kept a clean sheet and provided an assist in Arsenal's 3-0 win over Watford on Saturday afternoon, and Chris Smalling, who also kept a clean sheet this weekend as Man United beat Everton 3-0, the Centre-Back also got himself an assist. With Arsenal and Man United both hitting form it's becoming essential you get at least one of their defenders in your team.

There are 5 in midfield this week Georginio Wijnaldum (Star Player), Ander Herrera, Raheem Sterling, Manuel Lanzini and Moussa Sissoko.

Newcastle scored their way back into action this week netting six times against Norwich to maybe kickstart their season. 4 goals came from impressive summer signing Wijnaldum who started and ended the scoring in their 6-2 victory. His team-mate Sissoko got 3 assists in the game earning him plenty of fantasy points. If you had these two in your team you're doing very well. They are only owned by 3.8% and 1.1% respectively.

Raheem Sterling had by far his best day in a City shirt scoring a first-half hat-trick that helped see off injury-stricken Bournemouth 5-1. Ander Herrera is fast becoming a fan-favourite at Man United and with another goal and an assist this weekend he is only going to get more popular. Lanzini achieved the same feat as Herrera with a goal and an assist in West Ham's 3-1 win over Crystal Palace.

The front two this week are Wilfried Bony and Jamie Vardy. Bony finally found his shooting boots for Man City with two goals rounding off the 5 goals City scored. He also provided an assist to help Sterling get his first Professional Hat-Trick. Vardy carried on his scintillating form this season with another 2 goals to rescue a point for Leicester from 2-0 down.

Next week is the first Manchester Derby of the season. I expect there to be a lot of goals and without Aguero that falls on Bony, Sterling and De Bruyne for City. Rooney has to find form eventually and could this be the game where it all comes together. The weekend also sees Jurgen Klopp's first home game in the Premier League so I would expect Liverpool to come out and blow Southampton away.
