Premier League Best XI: 31st Oct - 2nd Nov: Everton Run Riot

This weekend saw Sunderland back to losing ways away at Everton and it saw Jose Mourinho suffer another defeat at the hands of Jurgen Klopp. It also saw a third 0-0 in a row for Manchester United. The initial influx of fantasy managers bringing in Anthony Martial may have been slightly premature.

In the team of the week this week:

Jack Butland (GK) - Stoke have Butland to thank for coming away from St James' Park with even a point this week. The England youngster pulled off several world-class stops to deny Newcastle. With a very well earned clean sheet and 6 crucial saves to his name he is this weeks highest scoring goalkeeper. David De Gea also had a very good game between the sticks rescuing a point for United.

Laurent Koscielny (Def) - Arsenal went away from home this weekend to Swansea and had a pretty easy day of it. Koscielny was very rarely tested at the back earning him a clean sheet but with somewhat dubious goal (but goal nevertheless) he was the highest scoring defender in this weeks team. Arsenal are currently sitting joint-top of the league and not conceding many. Arsenal defenders are gold mines.

Nicolas Otamendi (Def) - The new signing from Valencia hasn't really started his career at his new club like many would have hoped but his headed goal at the weekend helped Manchester City to another win meaning they stay top of the league. The Argentinian didn't manage to keep a clean sheet thanks to a Joe Hart howler but his goal and overall performance put him in the team this week.

Ryan Bertrand (Def) - Southampton had the test of welcoming Bournemouth to St Mary's and all in all it was plain sailing for the Saints. The result was 2-0 meaning Bertrand got a clean sheet but also provided an assist helping Southampton to their 2 early goals.

Riyad Mahrez (Mid) - This man has been in the team of the week more times than not this year and he carried on his incredible form with another 2 goals this weekend. Leicester are flying high and it feels like their amazing run might never come to an end. Leicester in Europe next season? If Mahrez and Vardy carry on the way they're going it might well happen.

Philippe Coutinho (Mid) - The Brazilian 'magician' had an absolute stormer against a Chelsea side that are really struggling to put any kind of run together. Coutinho scored twice to turn the game on it's head after Chelsea went 1-0 up. The score finished 3-1 and Coutinho was back to his scintillating best.

Steven Davis (Mid) -  Davis scored the fist goal in Southampton's 2-0 win. Southampton cruised to victory at home to Bournemouth and Davis's first-half performance in particular was very good earning him a spot in the team this week.

Gerard Deulofeu (Mid) - Since signing for the Toffees permanently this summer Deulofeu hasn't really lived up to his potential but in Everton's 6-2 thrashing of Sunderland on Sunday he got the ball rolling with the first goal and also provided assists for 2 of the other goals.

Odion Ighalo (ST) - The watford front-man can't stop scoring at the minute and he added another 2 goals to his tally this weekend when Watford put an in-form West Ham team to the sword.

Romelu Lukaku (ST) - The big belgian striker played his part in the magnificent 6-2 victory with a goal and 2 assists. He linked up with Deulofeu and Kone to put Sunderland away.

Arouna Kone (ST) - STAR PLAYER - The hat-trick hero from the weekend. Linking up with Deulofeu and Lukaku he grabbed himself 3 goals. Playing a man of the match performance he helped Everton moved up the table and has certainly made his claim for more starts in the Premier League.
