    Premier League Best XI: 19-21 Dec - Christmas Number 1

    Leicester City have defied all the odds and have stayed top of the premier league and they will be there on Christmas Day. 5 out of the last 6 teams who have been there at this point have gone on to win the league with only Liverpool falling short.

    This weeks Best XI:

    Hugo Lloris (GK) - Spurs moved into the top 4 this weekend with a 2-0 win over Southampton. Lloris made 4 saves to keep out the saints a couple of which were fantastic stops. 

    Kyle Walker (Def) - The Englishman not only helped his team towards the clean sheet but provided an assist at the other end to help Spurs to victory.  

    Nathan Ake (Def) - The young full-back was influential in Watford's comfortable 3-0 victory over Liverpool. He won the corner in which he scored from in the opening minutes and then played exceptionally well in keeping Liverpool's attacking threat at bay.

    Charlie Daniels (Def) - Bournemouth are silencing all their critics recently and they made it 3 victories in a row when they beat West Brom 2-1 at the weekend. The defender confidently stepped up and smashed in the winning penalty.

    Branislav Ivanovic (Def) - The sacking of Jose Mourinho meant all eyes were on Chelsea this weekend and it seems like the players have reacted well to his dismissal, especially Ivanovic who has had a shocking season so far yet he got his team underway with a solid header from a corner.

    Riyad Mahrez (Mid) - The ever-present Mahrez did it again. It's no surprise anymore that the Algerian is the Star Player of the week. He has been the best player in the league so far this season and continues to impress with his scoring and assists. Another 2 goals this week have helped him close the gap on team-mate Vardy.

    Mesut Ozil (Mid) - The assist machine got another 2 on Monday Night Football when Arsenal beat Man City 2-1. The German is now only 5 off the record for assists in a season with 21 games remaining. It is fair to say he is proving his worth.

    Dele Alli (Mid) - The England youngster is proving to be one of the signings of the season. he has adapted to the premier league straight away. Another goal this weekend has showed that he has the composure in-front of goal and is giving Roy Hodgson something to think about for Euro 2016.

    Odion Ighalo (ST) - Another player who has been in the team of the week on plenty of occasions this year. Another 2 goals at the weekend against Liverpool kept his and Watford's amazing run going. He helped make it 4 wins in a row for Watford in the Premier League.

    Cameron Jerome (ST) - Norwich pulled off a famous victory this weekend beating Man Utd at Old Trafford and heaping more pressure on Louis Van Gaal. Jerome started off the scoring with a brilliant solo run before slotting past De Gea. He then provided the assist for Tettey to add more misery.

    Shinji Okazaki (ST) - The Leicester striker who isn't getting much of a look in while Vardy is flying partnered the Englishman this weekend and scored what turned out to be the vital winning goal after being assisted by Jamie Vardy.
