Alexandre Pato : Where will he end up?

Several Premier League clubs in recent weeks have been rumoured to be linked with Brazilian forward Alexandre Pato.

The former AC Milan forward who currently plays for Brazilian club Corinthians, has been linked with clubs such as Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea.

Recent reports show that Chelsea have become strong favorites to sign Pato with a bid of around £11m possibly lined up for the 26 year old as the champions look to increase their forward options.

Currently Chelsea are chasing a forward due to Radamel Falcao's thigh injury and a slight injury to Diego Costa during the 3-3 draw in their last match against Everton, leaving Loic Remy as the only fit forward.

With Liverpool also in need of a forward it would appear with injuries for Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge, Pato could be worth taking a look at.

However, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has since hinted in a recent press conference that he is not interested in signing Pato. He said "my private advice to you is don't follow the Pato path any longer".

Pato has scored 10 goals for his country Brazil, and two of his former managers Carlos Dunga and Carlo Ancelotti in the past have compared his talent and ability to the likes of famous Brazil World Cup winners including Kaka and Ronaldo.

Pato scored 26 goals last season although most of his goals came whilst he was on loan at Sao Paulo.

He is very effective and accurate in the air despite not being considered particularly tall standing at approximately 5ft, 11 in.

There have been a lot of periods during Pato's career which have been plagued with injuries, and he has been regarded sometimes as not being able to live up to his full potential.

Pato did quote in December in several papers such as The Guardian that he would like to move to the Premier League at some-point. "Before I came to Italy to play for Milan in 2007 I saw in the papers that my name was mentioned in connection with some English clubs.

"I think the Premier League is the number one in the world. I like the emotion in the English league, I think it has to be a club that plays to be champions".

Although Chelsea are not considered contenders for the title this season or playing like champions, they still possess a strong squad with talented players which could become even more talented if Alexandre Pato makes the move to Stamford Bridge.
