    Mario Balotelli returning to Liverpool?

On loan AC Milan forward Mario Balotelli could be returning to his parent club Liverpool during the transfer window.

The 25-year-old Italian joined Liverpool for £16m in the summer of 2014, but failed to make an impact, and subsequently was sent on loan to AC Milan.

Reports from Italy suggest that the Italian side are apparently unhappy with the recent performances and attitude of Mario Balotelli which might not come as a big surprise to many people.

Italian website Calciomercato has reportedly said that clubs such as West Ham and West Brom are interested in loaning Balotelli until the end of the season.

Recently former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers stated that Balotelli is a talent, but admitted that he was forced into signing Balotelli after missing out on Chilean star Alexis Sanchez to Arsenal.

“He’s a wonderful talent, there’s no doubt about that”.

“The ownership thought this was perhaps a player I could develop. It didn’t work out for us and it cost us”.

It was always a big gamble bringing a player with Balotelli’s reputation in the first place to Liverpool, however if AC Milan decide to terminate the loan deal, Liverpool do not have much choice in the matter.

Balotelli has only scored 1 goal this season so far for Milan in his 2nd spell with the Italians, after spending 2 years there during his 1st spell with them before signing for Liverpool in August 2014.

However he has been injured during this season with Milan with a groin injury, and made an instant impact on his 3rd appearance in September 2015 by scoring a wonderful free kick which earned Milan a 3-2 victory that day over Udinese.

He has featured over 30 times at International level for Italy scoring 13 times including a goal against England at the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.

It is evident that he is talented, however despite his undoubted talents he can be disruptive and not put in 100% effort which Jurgen Klopp will not tolerate.

The reality is that he may struggle to fit in if he comes back to Liverpool again due to Jurgen Klopps constant high work rate mentality of which Balotelli may not conform to.

However, the 25 year old Italian has stated that he wants to play under Jurgen Klopp according to his agent Mino Raiola.

Raiola has stated that he believes Klopp could help Balotelli play well consistently, and help the player develop.

"Whether Klopp has a plan for him or not I don't know I haven't spoken to him about this.  We will talk to him when it is time to talk to him".

One thing is for certain Balotelli will need to put in 100% effort everyday if he is to play again for Liverpool or any team in the Premier League for that matter.
