    Premier League Best XI - 16-18th January

    This weekend was another week of bags of goals and controversy. John Terry scored a last minute equaliser against Everton, which replays show was quite a way offside. Sunday saw the return of the biggest derby in England where Manchester United beat Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield.

    Here are the best 11 players from the weekend:

    Mark Bunn (GK) - It might come as a surprise to a lot of people that the Aston Villa keeper is in the team of the week but despite conceding one goal he managed to keep out high flyers Leicester to allow his team to get a point. He made 4 saves in the match and one of them a crucial penalty save that kept out Riyad Mahrez.

    Charlie Daniels (Def)(Star Player) - The Bournemouth defender is in the team of the week for the second week running after another brilliant display. Bournemouth thrashed Norwich 3-0. Along with his clean sheet Daniels managed a goal and an assist from Defence.

    Ashley Williams (Def) - The scorer of the only goal in the Monday Night game against Watford. He was the main man at the back keeping tabs on Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo and late on in the first half he got his head to a cross and grabbed Swansea a much needed victory.

    Matt Targett (Def) - Southampton are finding their feet again in the Premier League after a shaky period. They ran out comfortable winners at home to West Brom at the weekend. Matt Targett getting the clean sheet and getting himself an assist.

    James Ward-Prowse (Mid) - The England youngster doubled his all time Premier League goalscoring tally this weekend with 2 goals. The first a brilliant free-kick and the second from the penalty spot. 

    Christian Eriksen (Mid) - Eriksen has been very quiet this season with Harry Kane taking most of the plaudits however this weekend Tottenham breezed past Sunderland as Eriksen got himself on the scoresheet twice.

    Georginio Wijnaldum (Mid) - Newcastle are starting to find a bit of form and that carried on this weekend as they beat West Ham 2-1. Wijnaldum has been their best player by far this season and he did it again this weekend with another goal and an assist.

    Cesc Fabregas (Mid) - The Spaniard, along with most of his Chelsea team-mates, has been very poor this season however this weekend showed he might be on the path to redemption as he got a goal and an assist as Chelsea rescued a point against Everton.

    David Silva (Mid) - Manchester City were back to their very best this weekend as they smashed Crystal Palace 4-0 with David Silva picking up a goal and an assist in the game.With him fit City will certainly believe they can win the title again.

    Sergio Aguero (ST) - When City play well it is usually down to one or two players and those players are the ones in the team of the week this week. Sergio Aguero was back to his very best as he put 2 goals past Palace at the weekend and picked up an assist.

    Harry Kane (ST) - Currently the most in-form English striker was firing again at the weekend. He picked up his goal from the penalty spot but he was pivotal to the performance as he got an assist aswell.
