Premier League Best XI: 9-13th April

The Foxes are running away with it!

This week saw Crystal Palace and Everton both have two games. In fantasy football terms this means points, points, points. Everton vs. Crystal Palace ended 0-0 meaning the Crystal Palace defenders kept two clean sheets in one game week. As could have been easily predicted there are 5 Palace players in the best team this week. Here's how the best team lines up:

    Wayne Hennessey (Crystal Palace)

The Palace keeper kept two clean sheets in a week making 9 saves in total making sure of the safety of his team. Palace have been in poor form recently so these clean sheets will give them a boost going into the last few weeks of the season.

    Right Back

    Joel Ward (Crystal Palace)

The first of 3 Crystal Palace defenders in the team this week. Ward was a crucial part of both clean sheets and also grabbed himself an assist in the victory over Norwich to give him the joint highest score this week with his team-mate Hennessey.

    Toby Alderweireld (Tottenham Hotspur)

The Belgian centre-back got himself into the team of the week because of a brilliant clean sheet against Man United and also getting himself the second of three very quick Spurs' goals. The title race is still alive but only just. Spurs are gonna have to win every game and Leicester need to lose 3. I don't think it's going to happen.

    Pape Souare (Crystal Palace)

Another Palace defender who played all 180 minutes this week and kept two clean sheets. It seems as if Alan Pardew has got his defence sorted out. They just need to score more goals.

    Damien Delaney (Crystal Palace)

Delaney is at the heart of the Crystal Palace defence. Two clean sheets in a week with one coming against one of the best strikers in the league in Romelu Lukaku.

    Left Back

    Alberto Moreno (Liverpool)

Alberto Moreno hasn't had the best year in a Liverpool shirt. He seems to create chances at both ends and more seem to be converted at the wrong end. However this week he really found his best form. He kicked things off with a brilliant goal and then provided an assist for another in-form man Divock Origi.

    Centre Midfield

    Erik Lamela (Tottenham Hotspur)

The Spurs winger-midfielder has been very hit and miss since his big-money move to the North Londoners however he had a blinder at the weekend. He missed a sitter in the first half but put that behind him to provide an assist and round off the 3-0 win with a well-taken first-time finish.

    Jason Puncheon (Crystal Palace)

The final Crystal Palace player to appear this week. He finallt grabbed his first goal of the season against Norwich to grab the victory for his team and was also a big part of the 0-0 draw against Everton.

    Andy Carroll (West Ham)

The big Englishman may have just put a bit of a doubt into Roy Hodgsons mind about the front-line he is taking to the Euros. Carroll has been struggling with injuries in the last couple of seasons. This weekend he scored a hat-trick to deny Arsenal victory and earn a 3-3 draw for West Ham. Top 4 is not too far away for them.

    Jamie Vardy (Leicester)

Vardy has probably had one of the best weeks of his career after scoring 2 at the weekend to keep the 7 point gap at the top of the table and also finding out he is on the shortlist for PFA Player of the Season with fellow Leicester team-mates Mahrez and Kante.

    Divock Origi (Liverpool)

The Belgian youngster hasn't really shone since he came to Liverpool after a disastrous season at Lille last year however it seems Jurgen Klopp has shown faith in him and after his crucial goal against Borussia Dortmund last week he added two more against Stoke at the weekend. With Firmino and Sturridge both coming back to form Liverpool's strike force is suddenly looking very strong.

There are only a handful of games left in the season and it seems Leicester are going to take the title. The most exciting race is that of the top 4 where Arsenal, West Ham, Man City, Man Utd and maybe even Southampton and Liverpool could be in with a shout.
