Watford v Aston Villa: Match Preview

    By Alex Easley
Quique Sanchez Flores may not be Watford manager much longer.
Quique Sanchez Flores’ Watford future remains in the balance at Vicarage Road despite leading the Hornets to 12th position in the league table, along with an FA Cup semi-final appearance last weekend.

The club’s owners recently issued the dreaded vote of confidence in the week, and even a good strong finish to the campaign may not be enough to keep his job as manager.

Flores said on the speculation this week: "I'm not going to justify the season. I have experience in football and I feel happiness around Watford. The way people read the season, it's impossible (to say).

"What I understand is as a human being when you reach objectives, you want more. That is sometimes possible, sometimes it is not."
Villa supporters made their feelings known about the club's current situation.
Meanwhile, relegated Aston Villa have one final chance to stop their run of defeats matching the club’s record of 11 back in 1963, but having already lost 25 games this season it will be a pretty tough ask when they travel to Vicarage Road on Saturday afternoon.

There was somewhat of a negative, toxic atmosphere at Villa Park last week, but the players will need all the help they can get to stop what is almost their worst run of losses.

Villa's acting manager Eric Black said: "I've got to be honest - I don't think there has been a lot of enjoyment (in the job).

"I don't want it to sound like I'm looking for sympathy because I'm not but there's a lot of negativity around, especially over the last seven or eight weeks and that has made it hard.

"This is not a normal job in football, you're not working with normal football elements here."
Watford's Odion Ighalo is expected to play despite a recent death in his family.
    TEAM NEWS

Odion Ighalo is expected to play despite the death of his father last weekend, he died shortly after Sunday's FA Cup semi-final defeat against Crystal Palace, but the striker trained this week and is available.

Etienne Capoue will miss the game at Vicarage Road with a knee injury he sustained at Wembley and is likely to sit out the remainder of the season.

Gabby Agbonlahor's club suspension has been lifted after he quit as Aston Villa's club captain following an investigation, but he will not travel to Watford.

The striker will be available for selection from Monday, after he was banned as pictures apparently showed him partying in the aftermath of Villa's relegation.

Jores Okore will not be considered after saying he was not in the right frame of mind to be on the bench against Bournemouth earlier this month.

Libor Kozak is out while Jordan Amavi remains sidelined with a long-term knee injury and Micah Richards is a doubt, also with a knee injury, while Kieran Richardson is unavailable with a calf problem.
