Norwich City v Manchester United: 'Crunch time' for both sides

With less than a handful of games remaining in this season's Premier League, Alex Neil suggests Saturday's lunchtime fixture between Norwich City and Manchester United is 'crunch time' as both sides look to complete their own agendas.

For Norwich City the ultimate prize is survival. For Manchester United it is Champions League qualification. Both teams are currently underdogs in their respective quests, with Norwich two points and two places from survival, whilst United are four points behind the illustrious fourth position.

Who will be flying high on Saturday afternoon?

Manchester United go into the match as the form team. Only a ten minute fiasco that saw Tottenham Hotspur score three goals has blotched their copy book in the last six games, winning four and drawing against new champions Leicester City in the process. On the other hand, Norwich looked to be edging their way towards survival before they lost their last three matches against Crystal Palace, Sunderland and Arsenal, all without scoring.

The Canaries' recent record against the most successful team in Premier League history also does not make enjoyable reading for the club from East Anglia. Norwich have lost five of their last seven home league games against United, although they did pick up a shock victory at Old Trafford earlier in the season. Another win on Saturday will see United lose home and away against a promoted side for the first time in Premier League history.

Cameron Jerome was the hero at Old Trafford

If Norwich are to gain an unlikely victory they will have to deal with problems in defence. Timm Klose and Andre Wisdom are both out with knee injuries, whilst Ryan Bennett faces a late fitness test. Defensive shield Alex Tettey is also out with a long-term injury.

Manchester United learnt in the week that midfielder Marouane Fellaini will be suspended for the rest of the league campaign after picking up a suspension for elbowing Robert Huth against Leicester. Bastian Schweinsteiger and Luke Shaw are out injured for the visitors.

Who will he opposition be looking out for?

    Key Players:
Russell Martin- with injury problems in defence, Alex Neil will be hoping his captain can glue the backline together against a young and exciting United attack.

Marcus Rashford- the young striker has lit up the Premier League in recent weeks and will be looking to add to his stock against a shaky Norwich defence.

Chris Lincoln's Prediction: Norwich City 0-1 Manchester United
United have been unpredictable with their performances this season and will have to be ready to battle against a Norwich side fighting for survival. The Canaries have found goals hard to come by in recent weeks and may struggle against a strong United back four.
