    Chelsea Complete Kante Move

Chelsea have completed their second signing of the summer after confirming the arrival of Leicester midfielder N'Golo Kante. The fee for the transfer is believed to be in the region of £32 million.

The midfield anchorman had only been with Leicester City for one season, having arrived the summer previously for a fee of £5.6 million. The enormous rise in transfer fees shows the meteoric rise in Kante's fortunes since he has arrived in England.

Kante came to England as a complete unknown, having only played one season in Frances top flight for Stade Malherbe Caen. Most of his playing career had been spent in the lower divisions of French football.

He came into a Leicester side that was again expected to battle relegation but wound up as one of the club's star trio alongside Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez as Leicester romped to the Premier League title.

As well as winning the Premier League title, Kante made the PFA Premier League Team of the Year and was a nominee for PFA Player of the Year, which he lost to his teammate Mahrez. Kante also made his French debut in March and was part of the French squad which lost the final of Euro 2016 to Portugal.

When discussing the transfer, Kante said "The opportunity to work with Antonio Conte as well as some of the best players in the world was simply too good to turn down".

Upon Kante's arrival, Juventus have upped their efforts to sign Nemanja Matic from Chelsea. The Serbian enjoyed a fine start to Premier League life upon his return but struggled badly last season and a £15 million bid would seemingly be enough to force Chelsea to part ways.

The £32 million fee is a club record for Leicester, smashing the £11 million they received for Emile Heskey 15 years ago.

The club have admitted they offered Kante a new long term contract with a vastly increased wage but couldn't compete with Chelsea's 5-year offer.
