    Liverpool Player On the Move

Liverpool forward Christian Benteke looks to be on his way out of Anfield after only signing from Aston Villa in the summer of 2015 in a £32.5 million deal.

A similar figure of around £32 million in total, according to Sky sources, has been offered by Crystal Palace for the Belgian international who seems to have fallen down the pecking order at Anfield this season.

Palace manager, Alan Pardew, wants to add Benteke to his squad after recently selling winger, Yannick Bolasie to Everton, and Mile Jedinak to Aston Villa. Pardew has claimed he wanted to sign Benteke when he was the manager at Newcastle United, and it seems that the move is almost done barring personal terms and a medical.

"He'll have his medical today, but personal terms have to be done," said Pardew.

Pardew has gone on to say; "Benteke is someone I know very well as I wanted to take him to Newcastle, it just didn't work out for him at Liverpool.

"We've lost Mile and Yannick, both big figures at this club. We need to replace them with others."

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp also said earlier this month that "it makes sense for Benteke to move on."

Benteke had made claims earlier in the year that he has been 'ignored' by Klopp, and that he was very happy to join Liverpool when former boss, Brendan Rodgers signed the striker.

Benteke has said on his move to Liverpool; "I was obviously happy, I joined a great club. I knew I could face difficult months, but in the long run it would work.

"When I arrived under Brendan Rodgers, I knew I would have the opportunity to show my qualities, I was worth all that money, I deserved to wear the Liverpool shirt, but now I knew that the new coach might have a different opinion on me, and that's what happened."

Crystal Palace hope to confirm the transfer later on Friday for a reported fee of £27m plus add-ons to take the total transfer fee up to £32 million.

Palace face a tough test in their next Premier League match on Saturday 20th August 2016 away to Spurs, with both teams looking for their first wins of the new league season.
