FA Cup round-up: Bournemouth, Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion lose to lower league opposition

Bournemouth, Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion all crashed out of the FA Cup after they were beaten by lower league clubs.

Eddie Howe's Bournemouth were on the receiving end of the biggest giant-killing of the weekend, as League One side Millwall thrashed them 3-0 at the Den.

A strong Stoke City team were unable to make home advantage count as they were defeated 2-0 by Championship club Wolves, marking the first time since 2008/09 that Stoke have failed to progress to the fourth round.

High-flying West Bromwich Albion were brought down to earth crashing thanks to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Steve McClaren's Derby County.

Former Aston Villa striker Darren Bent scored Derby's first goal against West Brom.

Manchester City kicked off the third round of matches with a dominating 5-0 away win over struggling West Ham United, which was followed a similar display from Manchester United, who picked up an effortless 4-0 victory over Jaap Stam's Reading.

Chelsea convincingly dispatched of Peterborough United 4-1 at Stamford Bridge, despite John Terry being sent off, and fellow Londoners Tottenham Hotspur sealed a 2-0 win over Steve Bruce's Aston Villa.

Jurgen Klopp named Liverpool's youngest ever starting line-up at 21 years and 296 days, however his youngsters were unable to breakdown a resolute Plymouth Argyle, who forced a replay by holding out for a 0-0 draw at Anfield.

17-year-old Ben Woodburn featured in Liverpool's youngest ever XI.

Sam Allardyce's return to his old club Bolton also resulted in 0-0 due to his new team Crystal Palace failing to overcome their League One hosts.

Southampton's encounter away to Norwich ended 2-2 thanks to an injury-time header from Norwich's Steven Naismith, resulting in Southampton having to add a third round replay to their already congested January fixture list.

Former Everton forward Steven Naismith kept Norwich in the cup with a late equaliser.

Two Ahmed Musa goals helped Leicester City claim a 2-1 victory away to Everton, while an 89th minute goal from Olivier Giroud helped Arsenal also pick up a 2-1 win in Preston.

New Hull City boss Marco Silva marked his first match in charge with a 2-0 win over Swansea City, whereas fellow relegation candidates Sunderland were involved in a 0-0 draw with Burnley at the Stadium of Light.

Middlesbrough overcame what seemed a potential tricky opponent in the form of Sheffield Wednesday with 3-0 win at home.
