Manchester City should not sign these two players - agree?

It's fair to say that the Premier League has not been the success story for Pep Guardiola and Manchester City that many of their fans  expected...

In order to rectify the inconsistent first half of the season,  Guardiola needs to dip into the January market in order to revitalise his squad for the mammoth task that is forthcoming in the second-half of the season.

After all, Man City have simply not been good enough - and there is only so much that Pep Guardiola can do with the squad that he has at hand.

Although they are in a strong financial position, it is important that City recruit the right players in January to help evolve the Guardiola revolution in the Blue half of Manchester.

With that said, here are two names that would be a mistake for City to sign this January...

    Dimitri Payet

Though not explicitly linked with a move, Dimitri Payet is certainly the sort of player that you can imagine attracting some of the best teams in the Premier League.

Of course, the Frenchman was arguably the best player in the Premier League last season - but the events of the past few months should certainly serve as a warning sign to Pep Guardiola.

Payet has not been at the races this season, and his attitude could serve to disrupt the Man City camp.

    Jack Wilshere

The City boss has been aware of Wilshere since 2011 when he played a massive part in Arsenal's 2-1 win over his Barcelona side at the Emirates, but alot of injuries have occurred for Wilshere since then and a move for the Bournemouth loanee would not enhance City's midfield quality.

This deal just doesn't make a lot of sense, especially if Wilshere starts struggling with injuries once again.
